The invention relates to the woodworking industry, in particular to equipment for the manufacture of bars. When cutting barrels 9 of various sizes, the frame 14, after the barrel 9 passes the cutting blocks 12 and 13, as well as the optical switch 11 provided in the output area, is pushed back to the stops 18 by means of the setting actuator 15. The clamping strips 22 with small planes are extended and positioned closer to the longitudinal axis of the device than the guide strips 23 having a large bearing area. Due to this, the clamping strips 22 always provide a certain penetration depth, as well as a sufficiently well-established force of penetration into the wood of the next cutter, and thus guarantee a constant cutting condition. The guide bars 23, between which the machined barrel 9 is clamped, create on both sides a relatively constant and adjustable pressure on it, due to which a significant increase in quality can be achieved.
